To Better The Man Scholarship

Background

Created to honor those with strong academic performance in both high school and as an undergraduate, a high sense of community service and involvement, and a leader in their community.

Purpose

Help offset the rising costs of attending college.

Eligibility

Any Undergraduate Stevens student with a cumulative GPA > 2.7 or incoming Stevens student

Selection criteria
  • ·Priority is given to students with any interest in Greek life who may have financial hesitations in joining
  • ·No requirement to join any fraternity or sorority if selected

Benjamin Oliver Scholarships

Background

The Benjamin Oliver scholarships (often abbreviated as BOF for Benjamin Oliver Fund) is named after Brother #1 of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi.

Purpose

To recognize those that have shown Academic Excellence or Leadership qualities.

Eligibility

All members of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi in good standing and enrolled in Stevens for undergraduate studies or co-op in the upcoming Fall semester

Charlie Suffel Memorial Scholarship Fund

Background

Established through a donation by Dr. Silvio Laccetti, former Professor of History & Social Sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology located in Hoboken, NJ. Dr. Laccetti hopes that his donation is a catalyst for a yearly tradition and brings in more donations from Alpha Tau alumni to keep the scholarship fund growing.

Purpose

To award graduating seniors each year who embody the Alpha Sigma Phi principle 'To Be a Better Man'. It is determined that the chosen recipient made an effective contribution to the Alpha Tau chapter during their time as an undergraduate brother and was a fantastic representation of the chapter to the Stevens community.

Eligibility

Must be a graduating senior and member of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi

Donald Forslund Scholarship Fund

Background

This fund was established by Brother Forslund to provide scholarships to qualified undergraduate students.

Purpose

Preferential consideration for these full or partial scholarships will be given to qualified undergraduate members of the Alpha Tau (Stevens Institute of Technology) Chapter and the Zeta Omicron (University of South Florida) Chapter with majors in the field of Science, Engineering, Technology and/or Math

Eligibility

All members of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi with a GPA at, or above the all-campus male average.
